The adventures of a Hawaii-based private investigator.

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Tom Selleck) is an ex-Navy "NIA" (ONI) Lieutenant, and Vietnam Special Ops veteran who resigned his commission at age thirty-three because he never got to be twenty-three. On the beautiful Hawaiian islands, Magnum is a P.I. who enjoys life, his buddies, and who works just hard enough to keep it real.—LA-Lawyer

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Tom Selleck), a former Naval Intelligence officer, is a private investigator. He lives in Hawaii, on the estate of multi-millionaire author Robin Masters (Orson Welles). Masters is never around, so the estate is run by Jonathan Quayle Higgins III (John Hillerman), a stuffy Englishman, and former Army Sergeant Major. Higgins has a dim view of Magnum, a view he projects through ensuring that the guard dobermans, Zeus and Apollo, make life difficult for Magnum. Meanwhile, Magnum is out solving cases in Masters' Ferrari, cases often involving murder and intrigue. In these endeavors, he is aided by his closest friends, Theodore "T.C." Calvin (Roger E. Mosley), a chopper pilot, and Orville "Rick" Wright (Larry Manetti).—grantss

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Tom Selleck) is employed on the Hawaiian estate of a wealthy absentee owner name Robin Masters (Orson Welles). The estate is run by Jonathan Quayle Higgins III (John Hillerman), who mostly tolerates Magnum's presence as head of security on the estate. Magnum is also a private detective whose cases frequently have a humorous overtone and always just enough danger.—S.E. Cook <[email protected]>

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Tom Selleck) grew up with a father in the Navy, who died when he was ten, and entered the Naval Academy at eighteen. Magnum, a third generation Naval officer, graduated the Academy, became a Navy S.E.A.L., and was sent to Vietnam. He made two life-long friends, Theodore "T.C." Calvin (Roger E. Mosley) and Orville "Rick" Wright (Larry Manetti), while serving in Vietnam. After the war, Magnum was transferred to Naval Intelligence, and stationed in Pearl Harbor. His buddies retired from the military. T.C. opened up a helicopter tour guide service, while Rick was a club manager. At the age of thirty-three, Magnum woke up one morning and realized he was never twenty-three. He quit the Navy, got a Private Investigator's license and opened a practice in Hawaii. He was eventually hired by a world-renowned author and playboy, Robin Masters (Orson Welles), to monitor security at Robin's Nest, a huge estate on the north shores of Oahu. Robin Masters would jet from one part of the world to another, and visit his various estates, and write best-selling novels. Robin's Nest is run by Jonathan Quayle Higgins III (John Hillerman), a proper Englishman. Higgins was in lineage of a Duke, and served in the Royal Army as a Sergeant Major. Magnum lives in Robin's guest house, and drives Robin's Ferrari. As a result, Higgins treats Magnum as a leech. However, deep down they have great respect for each other. The series follows Magnum on his various adventures, involving clients, guests staying on the estate, or plots involving his days in Vietnam. Magnum requires assistance occasionally from his friends, T.C., Rick, Assistant District Attorney Carol Baldwin (Kathleen Lloyd), his buddies in Naval Intelligence; even Higgins lends a hand from time to time.—Tom

Synopsis

The hottest thing I've ever seen on the screen, big and small. Tom in the shower (by himself) resting head and arm on the wall, water beating down on him ------------ ooohhhh mmmyyyyy!!! Can't remember the eipisode, (or spell) was years ago, after all. But sticks in my mind and I see it still like it was yesterday! He's still the sexiest man I've ever seen, but sure would like to see more smiles! Remember the sh -- eating grin at the end of the show ---------
