Summaries

Venustiano Carranza y Francisco Madero, both from the state Coahuila, were born fourteen years apart in the last decades of the nineteenth century. Descendents of families that fought for the sovereignty of their state against the French intervention, Carranza and Madero found themselves, each in his own way, confronting the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. Madero, the first leader of the Mexican Revolution was not a rural peasant nor a worker: he was a well-to-do heir of one of the richest families in the country. Carranza had a vision for the future of the twentieth century.—Clío TV
