Synopsis

The Brown family has a funeral, a wedding and a family reunion all in the same day, and it is up to Medea, the no-nonsense matriarch, to keep order. She has a quick tongue that speaks only the truth, even if it is at times brutal, and a handgun in her purse if all else fails. This production also contains some adult content and soulful song numbers. Also, Madea's Family Reunion is a comedy-drama film adaptation of the stage production of the same name written by Tyler Perry and sequel to Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It was written and directed by Perry, who also played several characters, including Madea and her un cooperative brother, Joe. The independent film was produced by Lionsgate. After the Funeral, and while planning her family reunion, the pistol-packing grandma, Madea, must contend with the other dramas on her plate, including the runaway foster daughter who has been placed under her care, and her troubled nieces, half-sisters Lisa and Vanessa. One of them gets beat by her fiance´ and Madea is on to fix it as soon as she can and as fast as she can!
