Mabel, a 36 year old successful criminal lawyer, decides to have a baby with her partner, Richard, a 38 year old good looking business tycoon. Unknown to Richard, he is incapable of impregnating a woman due to cystic fibrosis genetic disorder. An excited Richard decides to propose to Mabel on her birthday but she rejects his proposal in presence of family and friends because she doesn't believe in the institution of marriage. She insists they simply remain partners and co parents. Richard, although upset, finally caves to her demands. When Mabel and Richard discover this ugly truth, they decide to opt for a sperm donor. With the help of their fertility doctor and friend, Yemi, they find the perfect donor, Curtis. What was supposed to be a fast and easy transaction becomes complicated when Mabel insists on a face to face meeting with her sperm donor and falls in lust with him at first sight.
