Julie was frigid due to a gang rape that occurred when she was 13. She had been unable to have a stable relationship until she met David. David was separated from his wife, who had taken most of his assets. Julie became pregnant, but could not marry David as his wife would not give him a divorce. Julie goes to the Clergy Counseling Service for advice, but runs out before talking to anyone. David arranges for a abortion in Mexico; at the time abortion was illegal in the US.
