Summaries

At Rio Escondido, Lalo Coraje, a famous football payer, returns home to Rio Escondido, to his brothers Jeronimo and Juan and their parents, Ana and Sebastian Coraje. Also there is Pedro Barras, owner of a diamond mine; his wife Estrella works for the Corajes. The two families are rivals for power. Lalo is engaged to Paula, but he has an affair with Dr. Maciel's daughter Rita. Paula is pregnant and he marries her. Meanwhile, Pedro's daughter Clara returns to the country. She is schizophrenic and has a double personality: "Diana" is her good side and "Marcia" is her evil side. Juan meets and falls in love with Clara, but Pedro wants her to marry the noble Falcon. Estrella falls in love with Lorenzo and they try to kill Pedro. Jeronimo falls in love with Lina-Potira, an Indian, but she will marry Rodrigo. Jeronimo issues a policy against Pedro Barras, but Pedro has silly, drunken Dr. Maciel, corrupt inspector Falcon, and foreman Jose Matos on his side. In the end Falcon redeems himself and Jose Matos is revealed to be Pedro's illegitimate son with the maid, Dominga.—Anonymous
