Different characters and situations taken from the narrative work of Mexican writer Juan Rulfo come together in this film. After arriving in Comala, Juan Preciado stays at the home of a couple of incestuous brothers; Juvencio Nava flees from various men who are pursuing him for the alleged murder, many years ago, of Colonel Guadalupe Terreros; Finally, two brothers-in-law take Natalia's dying husband to Talpa in the hope that the virgin will work a miracle and cure him.—jsanchez
