Yuichi Ezaki and Rika Akiba are two 17-year-old teenagers hospitalized for different conditions. Yuichi suffers from hepatitis A, while Rika suffers from a weak heart and has been hospitalized for most of her life. Yuichi first notices Rika and attempts to befriend her. As the two patients spend more time together they soon start to fall in love.
