In late 1800s Thailand, Kaew is a slave under King Chulalongkorn's reign, born into servitude due to his parents' status. As slavery ends in Thailand, new laws offer Kaew the chance to retire at 21, but his master, Phraya Chaiyakorn, refuses to grant him freedom. The story follows Kaew's fight for liberty and his love for Namtip, his master's daughter, who becomes his source of strength.
