An honest man neglected by his family members who are high grade officials wins the election as an independent candidate against his father and becomes high grade minister, rises in the political field.

Krishnakumar witnesses tyranny and corruption at the hands of corrupt police, and even more corrupt and oppressive politicians. He also finds out that his Education Minister father, Balagangadharan, as well as two brother-in-laws are also part of this system, and he decides to speak out against them. As a result he alienates himself so much so that he is not permitted to attend his sister's marriage which has taken place against her will.
