Nicholas returns home to visit parents and finds his father disabled by years of his drinking and his mother living in a fantasy of how life could have been.

A son returns home to aid his Mother (who is coping with his Dad being reduced to a vegetable state by a terrible car accident).He finds his Mother living in a fantasy world and he too reverts to memories of his childhood to try and understand the situation that he is dealing with now.
