Letter to Nathan, short documentary Stephen Bracco Inspired by 'Letter to Jane' by Godard and Gorin, 'Letter to Nathan' addresses, through voice-over, still images of an animation character in the same way 'Letter to Jane' addresses still images of a movie star. As in 'Jane', 'Nathan' explores the political power of sex appeal, and asks who owns the means of cinematic production, and therefore who determines meaning. Like 'Letter to Jane', 'Letter to Nathan' appropriates privately owned corporate images and recasts them in a public discourse.—Anonymous
