Summaries

Two men deal with the ups and downs of the creative process and passing the age of thirty.

Every morning, at eight o'clock precisely, for a year straight, Jean-Pierre photographs the same street corner of a popular Montreal neighborhood: a snack bar, a bus stop, a young maple smothered by concrete and banal but unique activity of everyday life. Inspired by these photos, and without ever having seen the real street corner, Marc wrote the novel. Little by little, through these photos and this novel, the personalities of Marc and Jean-Pierre unveil themselves. The banality of the corner of the street, betrayed by the staging of one, will be transformed by the fantasies of the other. A story both funny and dramatic, which follows the highs and lows of creation and merges with that of two men who are having a hard time adjusting to being their thirties as well as the trials and tribulations of their love lives.—Anonymous
