The "Les Héros du samedi" program was launched in the wake of the preparations for the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal (Canada), and allowed young athletes, some of whom would later become known to the general public - such as Wayne Gretzky, Sylvie Fréchette and Alexandre Despatie - to make their television debut.
