An up-to-every-trick media lawyer handles her clients' affairs while discovering a mysterious connection between old family baggage and current political controversy in modern Berlin.

The eight-part mini-series 'Legal Affairs' centers on the well-known German legal expert Leo Roth (Lavinia Wilson). It is crucial for the successful media lawyer to represent her often prominent clients as well as possible in public and, if at all possible, to influence the public's opinion in favor of her clients. Well-connected in politics and in the German media landscape, she launches reports and defends herself against shitstorms and negative reporting with all legal and, in her view, legitimate means. In the course of time, Roth gets caught up in a dark tangle of perfidious intrigue that brings her to the edge of her creative powers.—Roger Förster
