Summaries

A modern lesbian couple decides to have a baby, but first they need to find a man to impregnate one of them. They also deal with social pressure and a journalist who wants to expose their unusual story even though they insist on privacy.

Le altre (literally: The Others) is a ahead-of-its-time Italian lesbian dramedy by an Iranian director, Alessandro Fallay (who already wrote a much darker lesbian drama called Sisters). Alessandra and Flavia are modern and independent Italian women who live together in a loving lesbian relationship while dealing with various kinds of social pressure outside of their cozy apartment. When Flavia decides she wants to have a baby with Alessandra, she's not all that into the idea, but they do agree to find a man who would impregnate Flavia. After some complications, things eventually work out and they start raising their baby together as a family. The problem arises when a journalist decides to expose their unusual life story even though they insist on their privacy. Alessandra comes up with a simple plan.
