This is black and white film focuses on the plight of the peons in Mexico in the late of 1800s and early 1900s. This film was part of a much larger Eisenstein project called Que Viva Mexico!. It would have been an episodic portrayal of Mexican culture and politics from pre-Conquest civilisation to the Mexican revolution.—ypatiados
