Albert Maulette, the owner of 'La Vie de Plaisir', a very busy nightclub owner, has fallen in love with Hélène de Lormel, the beautiful daughter of a couple of aristocrats on the brink of ruin. Monsieur de Lormel, who despises Albert's occupation, demands that he sell his nightclub before he gives his consent. Which Albert does but, once married, his life does not prove a pleasure cruise.
