In a nightmarish house, with insects and a tortoise everywhere, a female cooks for and reads stories to an old man, an eccentric writer. The waiter, a twin who exchanged lives with his twin brother, is visited by a female ex-lover, and she becomes a rival for he cook-reader's affection.
