Roman and Lupe have fallen in love. But Román is the son of landowner Don Pedro Ruiz, who disputes the possession of a parcel known as El Monte de los Pericos, with Don Miguel Díaz, Lupe's father, who opposes his daughter's love for the son of his rival.
