Synopsis

Dani (Michael Ronda), a 9 year old boy, has a dog named Pirata; a large black Newfoundland. One day Pirata suffers a fatal accident. Danis life takes a tragic turn, but Pirata returns from the other side as a ghost. The whole family moves to Veracruz City. In Veracruz the family meets Paddy OBrien (Roger Cudney), the watchman who takes care of the old lighthouse. The boy and the old man form a great friendship, in part because not only is Paddy able to see Pirata, but he teaches Dani to see him. Together Dani, Paddy and Pirata have an amazing adventure on the Night of the Pirate; they bear witness to a battle between ghostly buccaneers from the past, come face to face with the fierce pirate Barbarrota (Ramón Medina), they get taken captive by Lieutenant Gomez (Fermín Martínez) and his men, get chased by sharks and are finally saved by Pirata who takes an active part in their quest to find the OBrien family relic and discovering the pirates treasure. In addition to this, Danis parents finally witness to the ghost dog, Pirata, and discover the truth in Paddys stories
