A millionaire businessman loses his entire fortune after investing in the stock market. Broke and with no prospects for living, he receives a visit from the devil, who proposes a Mephistophelian deal: if he kills a person telepathically, he will be able to recover his fortune. Sometime later, the businessman begins to feel remorse, so he decides to help the widow of the fisherman he murdered.
