Kronk desperately tries to find ways to impress his dad, whom he can never please. But when things go wrong, Kronk kicks into comical gear and discovers the true riches in life are his friends and being "true to your groove".
A young male who wants to cook all the time discovers that his father is coming to visit. Along the way, he tells multiple stories about his past and how he came to be. His friends do everything that they can to help him reveal his true self to all who know him the best.—RECB3
Emperor Kuzco (David Spade) narrates the story about Kronk Pepikrankenitz (Patrick Warburton), now chef and Head Delivery Boy of Mudka's Meat Hut, who is fretting over the upcoming visit of his father. Kronk is now a famous cook in the local town and the community depends on him for their daily meals. They all acknowledge Kronk's role in defeating Yzma, and don't hold any grudges against him as they know and believe in the goodness of Kronk's heart. Kronk spreads joy everywhere he goes.Pacha was his best friend, and his wife Chica and 3 kids Tipo (Eli Russell Linnetz), Chaca (Michaela Jill Murphy) and infant Yupi all love Kronk.
Kronk is very nervous about the upcoming visit as his father always disapproved of young Kronk's culinary interests (he took away his oven mitts when Kronk was a young boy) and wished that Kronk instead would settle down with a wife and have a large house on a hill. So, Kronk lied to him and said that he had all those things. Kronk was afraid of his father's reactions including the cold shoulder, the frenzied eyebrow, the grimace of doom, the sneer of despair, the crippling wince of guilt, the scowl of impending wrath, and the nostril flare of total rejection. All Kronk ever wanted was a thumbs up from his Papi.
In a flashback, Kronk tells the story of how he almost had both of these. Kronk used to work for the villain Yzma who turned into a cat but is now human again despite still having a tail. Kronk used to deliver food to his elderly friends at the Flickering Embers Home for Seniors. The seniors suffered from various ailments and wishes there was a cure for them in a bottle. The seniors were willing to pay anything for youth. Yzma was spying on Kronk and overheard this entire conversation.Yzma lures Kronk to her hideout with a gold coin tied to the string. Yzma now lives in a small hut in a decrepit part of town, ever since she was thrown out of the palace.
As unwitting accomplice to Yzma (Eartha Kitt) he goes along with her plan to sell a youth potion (which in reality was just sewer water). Yzma convinces Kronk that she wants to help the old age folks and ease their suffering. Yzma takes Kronk to her new secret lab and shows Kronk that she has herself created the youth potion or the elixir of life. Kronk did not want to charge the old seniors for the potion, but Yzma again reminds him of his desire to get a big house on the hill, and the thumbs up from Papi. The old folks including Rudy (John Fiedler) trust Kronk blindly and when he attests to the youth potion, they pay up. Due to a placebo effect the seniors feel they are getting better with a better range of mobility, less pain in the joints, and even weight loss. Seniors are convinced that the Youth potion works and buy more and more of it.
Kronk makes enough money to buy the old folks' home from the old folks (as they need the money for more youth potion) and put his large new home there. Kronk writes to his Papi that he finally has a house on the hill, with a swimming pool and a golf course. Kronk invites his Papi to stay with him at his guest wing. Kronk even has 2 secretaries named Tina and Marge.
Eventually, Yzma is revealed as a fake, when Kronk sees that despite taking several vials Rudy looks exactly the same as before. Kronk is distraught as he helped Yzma perpetrate the fraud on old people. Kronk reveals the truth to Rudy, who had even sold his clothes to buy the youth potion and now had nothing left.Rudy forgives Kronk as he admitted his mistake honestly. Rudy suddenly remembers that Yzma is about to be elected Emperor by the other seniors. Rudy interrupts the event and exposes Yzma and her youth potion as a fake. The seniors chase Yzma through town and corner her at a bridge over a river full of crocodiles. To prevent them from attacking her, she transforms herself into a rabbit, but is then caught and taken away by a condor. When Kronk realizes the old folks have sold everything they own in return for something which doesn't work, he gives his home back to them. The seniors realize that they are only as old as they feel, as they were able to chase Yzma across town with relative ease.
Back in the present, Kron narrates the story of the time when he was camp counselor of the Junior Chipmunks at Camp Chippamunka. This was the time when Kronk fell in love with fellow counselor Miss Birdwell (Tracey Ullman) (of a rival camp). Kronk and his Chipmunks had won the annual Chipmunk Challenge and the Troop of the Year trophy for 2 years in a row and were back for a 3rd straight win. Bucky the squirrel tells Kronk that a rival camp led by Birdwell is after their trophy.
Birdwell's camp is super organized while Kronk focuses on fun. Kronk and Birdwell realize that they are both dedicated Troop leaders as they can do the level 7 Chipmunk handshake. But eventually, the rivalry comes to a head, when Kronk's troops lose the aquatic competition when Birdwell pulls out the rule book to have them disqualified for not entering the pool in alphabetical order.
Kronk asks his troops to do whatever in order to win. After a nail-biting competition, in which both camps go neck to neck (the 3-legged race, bridge building, archery, obstacle course, rowing, sandcastle building, and so on), it comes down to the last event to break the tie between the 2 rival camps. Kronk and Birdwell push their troops really hard to train for the final event. Both troops are exhausted.
While baking raisin bread for their tired troops, Kronk and Birdwell start fighting with each other over the use of each other's ingredients. This leads to a scuffle and Birdwell's raisins fall to the floor. Birdwell starts crying, which prompts Kronk to come over and console her and they agree to share their ingredients. Kronk and Birdwell fall in love with each other.Kronk returns to camp and again writes a letter to his Papi that he has found the woman of his dreams and invites him to visit.
They declare the rivalry between the 2 camps over and asks their camps to compete fairly, only that Tipo missed that meeting as he was preparing his prank. Tipo (Eli Russell Linnetz), puts itching powder in the chalk powder to disrupt the cheer routine of the rival camp to win the camp championships. Tipo had accidentally left his bag around the chalk powder container (in which he had mixed the itching powder). The bag had traces of the itching powder and was clearly labeled as the property of Tipo.
Tipo had mixed the itching powder after his troop's performance, and Kronk had specifically told Birdwell to chalk up her hands. During Birdwell troop's performance Tipo proudly admits to Kronk that he mixed itching powder in their hand chalk.
After the disaster, Tipo's bag is found near the chalk powder, and he is caught.Kronk, feeling responsible for the situation, due to having previously told his Chipmunks to do whatever it took to win, protects the boy at the cost of alienating his love. Kronk tells Birdwell that he told Tipo to cheat.
As Kronk's father is about to arrive, he asks Pacha to lend him his house and his family for the duration of his father's visit. Pacha agrees as he wants to help his friend.Kronk's father (John Mahoney) arrives, and confusion ensues as several supportive friends try to pass themselves off to him as Kronk's wife. This includes Pacha's (John Goodman) wife Chicha (Wendie Malick), Pacha himself, Kuzco, & Rudy three of whom dress as women, and finally Tina & Marge (April Winchell) (His assistants from his old house), and even the kids (who climb on top of each other and put on a poncho to pretend to be a woman).
As the cheese fondue in Kronk's kitchen explodes, the entire hut is covered in melted cheese. Kronk finally admits the truth to his father. Kronk realizes that his wealth is in his friendships, and this finally wins his father's thumbs up and Miss Birdwell's love. Tipo runs to Birdwell and tells her the truth.
Meanwhile, just outside the house, Yzma is in the condor's nest with two eggs, which hatch and presumably attack her.
