Summaries

Kosa, a young tribal boy who lives with his family in the dense forested heartlands of India, is picked up by the local police one day.

Kosa Muchaki is a 17-year-old Adivasi boy studying in a government school in the forested hinterlands of Chhattisgarh. He lives with his father, Sangram, and sister, Soni, who looks up to him being the younger of the two. With financial problems plaguing the family, Kosa is tasked with selling one of their goats by Sangram. As the only means of transport in these regions is on foot, Kosa leaves his home early one morning in the hope that he'd be able to sell his goat and come back before dusk settles. However, he never returns home that evening. We see him being kidnapped - not arrested - by a couple of plainclothes policemen. A farcical trial follows after he's charged with grave crimes because his name is apparently similar to an ultra-left commander operating in the region.—Mohit Priya darshi
