Australian comedy about life with the Bullpitt family: irascible father Ted Bullpitt, mother Thelma, student son Craig, and married daughter Greta and her Italian husband Bruno. And, of course, Ted's Kingswood Holden car.
Ted Bullpitt's most precious possession is his Kingswood Holden car. He objects when his son or his son-in-law want to drive the car and keeps the keys hidden. He is also unimpressed with his daughter's choice of a husband. Ted's brother is a sales representative for Datsun cars, something else which incurs Ted's disgust, as he feels that his brother should only deal with Kingswood Holden cars.—David McAnally <[email protected]>
Ted's punchlines have been remembered for a couple of generations now, and include such sayings as "somebody should blow up bus stops" and "leave your money on the fridge", and if asked to borrow the Kingswood, he would come up with a snappy answer like "not the Kingswood. I've just ironed the mud flaps!" He would also refer to his Italian son-in-law as "Wog".. Funny man, old Ted Bullpitt.—Wayne Hecker
