Fortune hunter Patrick O'Brien has left his daughter Kathy and guide Umbopa to trek across the desert in hopes of finding the fabled diamond mines of Solomon. Worried about her father, Kathy persuades hunter Allan Quartermain to lead a party to rescue him. After surviving the desert they are found by natives and brought to their chief, Twala. Umbopa reveals himself to be the true heir to the tribal throne, having been exiled years earlier by Twala and the tribal witch, Gagool. The famed white hunter Alan Quatermain finds himself leading an expedition into unexplored Africa after Kathy O'Brien convinces him to go after her father who has set off on his own to find King Solomon's legendary mines. Accompanied by John Good and Sir Henry Curtis, they set off with their guide Umbopa. They first set off across a vast desert, barely surviving and then must face unknown tribesmen who are out to kill them. They manage to find the mine and Kathy's father but Umbopa has his own reasons for joining them and Quatermain has to think quickly if he is to help him.—garykmcd
