This film is based on Khairlanji massacre took place in an interior village of Maharashtra in 2006. The wife and daughter of a poor farmer were raped and paraded naked before they were killed. This was allegedly done because the farmer opposed registration of their field to built a road through it.—Shrinivas G. Kulkarni
