Since his mother left them, autistic schoolboy Jojo lives with his father, a security guard, stretching the man's patience with his erratic behavior and constant trouble at school and in the water polo team, where coach Deniz does a remarkable job controlling him without actual expulsion. Jojo finds a baby jackdaw tat fell out of the nest and gets attached to it, also improving his bond with classmate Yenthe.
