After her father's heart attack, Niki Berger joins her sister Caro's law firm. Their sibling rivalry intensifies as they work together, unaware that Niki has lost her license to practice law.

A heart attack suffered by her father leads to Niki Berger (Nele Kiper) being asked to step in at the family business and support her sister Caro (Eva-Maria Reichert) until the head of the law firm is back in post. A lifelong rival, the socially committed, righteous Caro and the tough, business-minded Niki are already clashing as they prepare for the appointment with their first joint client. No one suspects that Niki has lost her license to practice law and is actually no longer allowed to work as a lawyer.
