Chronicling the many challenges faced by naive and upper-caste Brahman, Kali.

After his stepmother finds out that Kali has been having an affair with a low-caste woman, she asks him to leave. Kali is unable to find support amongst his very own people, and he and his sweetheart depart. After a long journey they enter a kingdom ruled by a king and his arrogant daughter, who hires Kali's girlfriend to sing.
