The film addresses several issues at the same time: the stigma surrounding HIV; the carelessness of Filipino youth regarding sex; youth in the Philippines when it comes to sex, the heavy consequences of growing up with a troubled parent; and the Christian double moral standard.
Kalel is a Catholic boy; only his mother and sister know that his father is a priest. Kalel recklessly searches for love and recognition from strangers he meets online--and one day he is diagnosed with HIV. When his mother runs away with her secret lover, he is left with his sister and her junkie boyfriend. When they are evicted from their home, Kalel has no other option than to see his father, who gives him rent money. But, being 15, Kalel spends the money on other things.
