Ranjan Dutt, a young theatre worker, is summoned by Kunal Sen, a renowned filmmaker, to act in his new film. During filming, Ranjan forms an unbreakable bond with the filmmaker and the city of Calcutta.

Ranjan Dutt first meets Kunal Sen, the renowned filmmaker, as a journalist writing about the city, Calcutta, Sen's "Eldorado." After a couple of years, when Ranjan is working on a stage production of Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss, Kunal summons him to work on his new film, titled "Kaleidoscope." Ranjan has a tumultuous relationship with the city and with Sen, but through the process of seeing the city through Sen's lens, he falls in love with it.—Swapnil Azad
