Akun, a Pehuenche boy who lives with his grandparents in the middle of the mountains of Alto Bio Bio. As he and his grandfather walks in the summer with the family's animals toward the Kallaquen volcano, the grandfather tells the story of Chaw Genechen who rode on his horse to the summit of the volcano, called Konün Wenu, or the entrance to heaven. Akun becomes lost in the woods when he decides that he is going to search for this Konün Wenu to find his mother, who died several years ago.—Film Affinity
