Danny is failing in school and is moved to a remedial class. His mother is supportive but his father thinks he needs punishment. Eventually Danny is diagnosed as being dyslectic, but his father needs convincing there is a problem.

Danny is failing in middle school, particularly in his reading and writing, but his sarcastic teacher regards him as lazy and stupid and moves him to a remedial class. Danny's mother is sympathetic but his father agrees with the teacher's assessment and thinks a good beating will solve the problem. Fortunately, Danny flourishes with the help of the remedial teacher, and eventually his mother has the boy's cognitive skills tested and he is diagnosed as being bright but dyslectic. However, Danny's father still needs convincing there is a problem, which causes problems at home.—growingup@YouTube
