Synopsis

The film is pentadically structured (five chapters presented by the actor Dorel Visan, a close friend of the academician) in order to to make an analogy with his system of philosophy based on five elements.Junele Sihastru (The Juni Hermet) follows the magister, as he is seen through the eyes of the disciple by illustrating some fragments of the remarkable personality of the great professor-philosopher (distinction often pointed out by the character himself), hypostases of his life and activity to which he cared a lot: his childhood spent in the mythical space of the old city of Brasov (Scheii Brasovului), pride of being a graduate of the famous "Andrei Saguna" High School from Brasov, the aspirations of adolescence, apprenticeship with the great philosopher Constantin Noica, research activity at the Institute of Logic, university and academic career, leader of the Institute of Philosophy and Psychology "Constantin Radulescu-Motru", the cult for the heroes of Romanian history and culture. By sharing a Socratic model with his disciples, Alexandru Surdu brings philosophy up to date in the sense of the original ancient symposium with all its noetic and aesthetic splendor. Author of over 250 works, studies and articles published in the fields of logic and the history of logic (some of them internationally recognized), but also of prestigious works in the field of philosophy, Alexandru Surdu served until the last moment the valuable purpose of valuing Romanian culture and history, being considered by emblematic academic personalities as "a bright man, a torch of the Romanian culture".
