Christ's tragic death happened long ago. Christianity has become a universal religion, as the Messiah had planned. All the players have been honored and praised by the church and by its faithful followers but only one of them has remained in the shadows, opposed and relegated to darkness: he is Judas Iscariot, the man, the traitor who handed over the son of God , Jesus Christ, to the Roman enemy. But the discovery of some apocryphal gospels in the first half of the twentieth century has swept the dust away and focused attention on some hidden truths about his true role.
