Journeyman takes you on a journey of 2 MMA fighters and their relationship during triumphs and failures in and out of the cage

Journeyman is a story that materializes from the recollections of a retired Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter during his early morning run. The viewer can feel the tightness in his joints and the stiffness in his muscles as he endures his workout. While running, he is listening to music through his earphones. Each song he hears reminds him of specific times and places throughout his MMA career, including an unlikely friendship with another fighter who became his closest friend. The relationship between the two fighters is complex, as Sid is the older, more experienced fighter who has witnessed the flourish and decline of his dying career more than once. Sid becomes an unlikely mentor to a younger fighter named Shannon. Shannon becomes an integral part of the story as he is a young, inexperienced fighter with raw talent, and his career immediately takes off. Inevitably, Sid and Shannon's friendship is tested by their opposite locations on the spectrum of the career of a fighter.—Edward Cardone
