It tells the story of a world full of demons where people's lives are miserable. Xuan Zang is an aspiring Buddhist hero who tries to protect a village from three demons. He battles demons by using a book of nursery rhymes to appeal to their inherent goodness. He develops complex feelings for Miss Duan, the demon hunter who repeatedly helps him, and finally quests to meet the legendary Monkey King.
