Synopsis

James Cagney plays an ex-newspaper man, Tom Richards, who is arrested for vagrancy. He is saved from jail by a kind elderly woman, Vinnie McLeod (Grace George), who is the editor of the local news paper. Together they team up to fight corruption in the town and refuse to buckle down to the villain of the piece Mr. Dougherty.
