The Dutch declares unilaterally that they are not longer bound by the Renville Treaty, and to stop the ceasefire. On December 19, 1948, Army Commander General Spoor Noord Simons leads military aggression II to attack Yogyakarta, the capital of the Republic of Indonesia at the time. The Dutch arrested Soekarno-Hatta and exiled them to the island of Bangka. General Soedirman who suffered from tuberculosis leads the guerrilla war for seven months against the Dutch. Meanwhile the Dutch declares that Indonesia is no longer existed. From the deep of the jungle, Soedirman broadcasts that the Republic of Indonesia is still exist and remains strong, and they will fight for the freedom of all Indonesian people. Soedirman turned Java into a guerrilla war zone, and slowly destroying the Dutch's logistics one by one. The Dutch's armies suffered from the skilled guerrilla tactics by Soedirman, and got defeated in the end. By the union between TNI and the people, Soedirman wins the war. At the end of military aggression, the Roem-Royen agreement is signed, and the Dutch recognize the sovereignty of Indonesia.—straydog12
