Known as the Jambock Squadron, the Brazilian unit overcame the prejudice and skepticism of its allies to become one the best squadrons of its group. One of the few Latin-American squadrons to fight in Europe, the Jambock Squadron was awarded a presidential unit citation from the US Army for heroism in combat, one of the rare foreign units to do so.—Márcio E.
