In late November 1992, near a village beside the river Ganges, an insane ward Jagat escapes from a mental asylum facility and enters the village and soon becomes popular among the local crowd who gathered around a house where a snake bites a village boy. Bishu the local hero catches the snake. Jagat tries to save the boy, Bishu protests but the local crowd stand by insane Jagat and this change in mob psychology leads to a tragedy for everybody.—Sayak Mukherjee (II)
