There are places in Goa where the rich can easily be fooled out of their money. A group of swindlers take advantage of this and risk everything just to get caught in a web of their own making.
Jackpot is a fast-paced thriller con, with sharp comic one-liners and crazy characters, set entirely in Goa against the backdrop of casino boats. The film goes back and forth in time, capturing one Goan monsoon of Full Jhol. It's a card game between the players in the con. Who will come out Aces and who will end up being the Joker?
Francis (Sachiin J Joshi) packs in the muscle and has a can of beer always close at hand. He is also street-smart enough to impress Maya (Sunny Leone), the Oomphy voice of reason. Boss Man (Naseeruddin Shah) is a veteran raver whose clothes are as colorful as his principles and punchlines. Slow in speech but quick to draw a six-shooter, he owns the Jackpot casino.
Francis, Anthony (Bharath Niwas) & Maya are con artists & come with a plan to boss to win 5 Crores in his casino at the poker tournament, by conning the other players and to split the winnings with him. Maya is a security guard at the casino.The gang needs Rs 1 Lakhs for the entry fee at the casino, which Boss refuses to waive. The gang runs an illegal raffle (which nets Rs 54,000), Francis sells his bike for another Rs 40,000, and then Maya gets a winner at the casino as a card counter and decamps with his winnings.
Francis approaches Boss for the job of a card dealer at his casino & gives him another deal. Francis's uncle Joseph owns a 250-acre plot of land which has been put under dispute by the CM of the state. Joseph has an offer of Rs 250 Crores for the land from Disney but knows that the sale will never go through during his lifetime due to the labyrinth of govt approvals required. So, Joseph agrees to sell the land to Boss for a smaller amount of Rs 10 Crores & for Boss to then sell the land to Disney for 250 Crores.
The CM asks for 5 Crores as bribe from Boss to approve the sale, which the Boss agrees to pay. They also have to pay 10 Crores as advance to Joseph against the purchase of land. Boss demands a 70% share in the project for putting up all the capital.Boss doesn't have 10 Crores, so Francis suggests that they enter Anthony as a player in the poker tournament in Boss's casino & win the 10 Crores. Maya trains Anthony on the art and science of counting cards.Actually, the poker tournament is only for 5 Crores, so the plan is for Anthony to win the tournament & then Francis will steal the briefcase in full view of the public. Boss will fine an insurance claim & get the additional 5 Crores needed. The insurance agent is also a friend of Francis, who will clear the claims for a payment of Rs 10 Lakhs.
As per plan Anthony wins the 5 Crores & boss hands over the briefcase full of money to him (before handing over the briefcase of handled by the 5th member of the gang Kirti), which Francis steals. But when he gets to his hideout, he finds it empty. After suspecting everyone, Francis, Anthony & Maya decide that boss will never believe their story & decide to bluff & act as though they have the 5 Crores.The insurance claim is duly filed, and an investigator Peter Francisco (Bosco Menez) arrives to write the claims report.Boss does not trust Francis and orders his minions to bug his phones and install a hidden camera outside his house. Inspector Tukaram (Makrand Deshpande) is involved in the investigation after the insurance company files a case for potential insurance fraud. Then Kirti's dead body is found in the river.
Things start to go wrong when Anthony is found dead, stabbed through the heart. Now, the dealer and the winner of the Jackpot are both dead and the prize money is missing, plus there is suspicion of Insurance fraud. Tukaram labels Boss as the main suspect as Anthony was found dead in the casino.It emerges that there was no 250-acre land, or Disneyland (or their executives) or even the CM. All of them were actors hired by Francis to dupe boss out of 5 Crores. Also turns out that Francis had bribed the prize handout girl Kirti to swipe the 5 Crores jackpot briefcase before handing it to Anthony.
The 10 Crores (Rs 5 Crores from the Jackpot winning, and Rs 5 Crores from the bribe paid to the "CM") were lying in Francis's Scooty which he was driving all over Goa. Maya finds Francis hiding on his houseboat. Maya seduces Francis, but then she betrays him and calls Boss to the location.
Boss traces Francis & confronts him. Boss doesn't trust Maya either and says that she only called him when she did not find the money on the boat. Boss finds the briefcase on Francis's boat & shoots a hole in it & throws Francis & Maya overboard. Francis & Maya escape, but Boss finds the briefcase empty & goes down with the boat.
The 10 Crores is divided by Francis into all the participants of the fraud including Anthony, who is actually alive.
