It Takes a Village is the story of a young, single father determined to discover why academic failure is plaguing his young son and his young peers. With the help of Junior High students and the community (affectionately known as "the Village") Trevor Scott creates an effective program that digs deep into the lives of these affected youths. Excellence, strength and academic achievement is the goal. Through dedication and hard work Trevor, the Junior High students and "the Village" turn once failing students into 8th grade graduates who eagerly anticipate high school and even college. Together these dedicated hearts changed the life course of young men and women. It took a Village - and now academic achievement is commonplace and a generation has triumphed over failure.
