Follows the lives of African Americans raised in south Los Angles, anatomizing their outlook on life, the mentality that impedes their culture, and the circumstances that suppresses their progression.

Latrelle (Main character) grows up in a two parent household where morals, principles, and integrity is being instilled in him, by his mom Brenda (middle school teacher), and Jackson his hard-nosed self-employed father, but when his farther is murdered in front of him, a mental roadblock keeps him from pursuing a positive and successful life. Antwoine and Rasheed are brothers with different dads, Antwoine dad is in prison, while their mom is inactive in their life. Antwoine resorts to selling drugs to take care of Rasheed causing him to remain loyal to Antwoine's ill-advised way of life moving forward. Briquille is being raised by his negative mother who believes there is certain limitations to life. She imposes her mentality on Briquille at a young age, momentarily hindering him from pursuing a better life. He quickly learns he must choose to either let his mother's mentality dictate the way he lives, or change his perspective on life and continue to move forward.—Verrin Cofield
