Saroj and her 9 year old son, Shankar lives in Vrindavan. Saroj works as a housemaid to run the house whereas Shankar studies in a government school. Shankar has never met his father as he left them long ago. Despite knowing that Shankar is not very good at studies, Saroj still wants him to study and become a school teacher or a clerk at least. Shankar takes admission in a private school under RTE (Right to Education) to fulfill this dream. But the hurdles in the new school comes as a challenge to Shankar and Saroj, as they try overcoming them while learning about life, in bits and pieces. Iskool Bag explores the untouched side of Right to Education and its implications through the emotional yet entertaining story of a son and mother. A small wish, a dream that leads to equality and empowerment in the true sense.
