Into the heart of Zululand, domain of tribal custom, proud nobility and forgotten Kings, theexciting, but simple tale of IP TOMBI ("Where are the Girls?"), focuses on a youngtribesman, 'Prince', (O'Neil Johnson) who prepares to wed the King's daughter - a marriagearrangement to attempt peace in the region. The King's brother, ('Scarface"), hungry formonarchy, is cultivating the conflict. And so, with help from a bad witch doctor, ancient ritualand African magic, the innocent young groom's destiny is altered, and he loses his bride
He leaves his homeland to seek fame and fortune in the city. But, here he encountersdisappointment, corruption and... "Duke" (Henry Cele), the shady, power-wielding ownerof the 'Ipi Tombi' nightclub. In this venue of vibrant, hip-swinging, foot-stamping moderntownship-jive that is unique to Africa, 'Prince' falls in love with the cabaret-singer, 'Angel'(Nana Moloi). The love tryst renders him victim of 'Duke's' wrath and 'hoods', which heescapes during the happy mayhem of 'Mama Tembu's' famous wedding celebration.Where are the Girls?" - at home of course. Taking 'Angel' with him, Prince returns to hishomeland where she meets her 'mystery' father, the King.
The emotional introduction, followed by a colorful wedding ceremony, explodes into athrobbing festivity of more music and riotous dance and ultimate reunion of the feudingtribes.
