Young Manhattanite Cory Pruitt is miserable when her husband, Evan McAllister, wants to return to his roots in rural Texas. What's more, he wants to start a family there. Cory's disgruntlement spills over and she offends everyone at a faculty gathering, including the arch villain of INVICTA, Hamilton Lock, a fire ant researcher. And as if that isn't enough, Cory learns that a dowdy researcher, Olivia Sanchez, has been flirting with Evan. What a mean mix!
