Inner City Cultural Center II Inc. pays tribute to legends past and present while documenting the history of Inner City Cultural Center; the first multicultural Arts Institute in the county and the greatest Performing Arts Institute of our time. A few alumni include Denzel Washington, Phylliss Bailey Brooks, Peggy Blow, Lorenz Tate, Phynjuar, Janet Jackson ,Garret Davis, Mickey Stevenson, Lynne and Tuesday Conner, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, Carmen Zapata and about twelve members of the original cast of television show Star Trek including Officer Uhura/Nichelle Nichols, Helmsman/George Takei and Ursula Bryant as Starship Captain Scott. Between the 60's and the early 80's most of the Actors of Color you saw on television passed through the doors of Inner City Cultural Center. There was also a beautiful wave of talented Behind-the-Scenes crew that keeps Los Angeles Arts and Cultural running strong to this day...you just don't know their names; but I'm going to tell you in this monthly series as we document OUR HISTORY.
