Barbara, Adar and Medhi are three vastly different people who are desperately seeking to start anew, yet despite their struggles still find themselves helplessly adrift in the middle of nowhere.

Barbara is in her late thirties, single and childless. On a cleaners wage, she eventually saves enough to go through with the IVF treatment she's longed for, only to have devastating results. Looking to start anew, she seizes an opportunity to work in the Goldfields town of Kalgoorlie. With the prospect of finally being able to earn a decent living (and have the procedure again), she sets off on the 600km drive into the West Australian outback... however her car is hijacked somewhere between Perth and Kalgoorlie by two foreigners looking to get to Sydney.
